18-7-06 :- Front Page Redesign - AP Erebus

  • You may have noticed that the front page of the wiki has had a complete redesign. This was as a result of much testing and tweaking. There are two key features of the new design:
      • We have dispensed with the ShoutBox. This wasn't as a result of miss-use or lack of use but it was decided to use a different system of comments... Which leads to the second feature.
      • On recommendation of Vietmusic, a PBWiki forumer, we have implement the HaloScan comment system. By clicking on the comments link in the heading of each news post you can post specific comments referring to that piece of news.

  • On the mod front, the was a great deal of swearing and cursing as the terrain was being attempted to be made. The shear number of hoops that one must jump through to create land in the CS means that it a far greater task that first expected. We are working on it, but it won't be as smooth a ride as hoped. A great shame.

4-7-06 :- Release: Alpha 3 - AP Erebus

  • We have a new release. The Alpha 3 release changes a few things but the major change being a complete redesign of one of the Forgotten Houses in Drifund. This is a list of the major fixes:
      • Completely redesigned the second Forgotten House in Drifund. Has now become the Forgotten Inn.
      • Added a barrel of torches in the Flavrium entrance.
      • Other minor tweaks and lighting improvements.

  • You can download the plugin from these sites: (43kb, RAR)
  • Important if you are upgrading from Alpha 1: Please delete the old plugin and use the new one. If you load a game that has the old plugin saved in it, it will give you an error on load. As long as you are not saved inside any of the plugin content (Flavrium, Drifund, etc...) you won't experience an error. The "The Lost Explorer" quests will begin again like it did the first time.

A Brand New Screen - AP Erebus

  • This is a shot from Alpha 3.

  • You might notice the new logo (the gold one). After some design work, NRG753 has designed this logo and it has been adopted in place of the old one. This was changed becuase it has a more professional look and also looks more medievil (Well I think so :D)

2-7-06 :- First Trailer Released - AP Erebus

  • We have created and released our first trailer showing some brief clips of the mod (All the content is the Alpha 2). This was primarily made to see if we could do it and what it would turn out like. NRG and myself have been debating how to set it up and I hope the quick 30 sec clip keeps you interested.
  • There are 4 different versions to download and one to view online using YouTube. You can head over to the Videos page for the download links.
    • A Large and Small QuickTime (MOV)
    • A Large and Small Windows Media Video (WMV9)

  • NOTE: The music is from Chrono Cross. It isn't any music we would consider using in the game but I thought it was suitably mysterious for the trailer.

28-8-06: New Shout Box

- AP Erebus

  • Only some small news today. I have added a shoutbox to the sidebars on the right hand side of the wiki frontpage.
  • This allows people to leave a small notice of support, or a brief suggestion. Abuse, trolling or spamming are not welcome. I will be deleting posts I find offensive or spam.
  • No other major news on the mod front. As my exams have finished I can now spend a lot of time working on the terrain for the mod. This is a significant step in the development of the mod.

21-6-06 RSS Feed goes live!

- AP Erebus

  • I have been attempting to develop a RSS feed for the mod, so that people can get the latest news without having to keep checking the site. You may have noticed the XML icon opposite the Latest News heading. Clicking this will automatically (I hope) subscribe you to our RSS News feed.
  • This is still being developed and I'm not that sure if it will work, but i'll give it a go.
  • If you have any comments/suggestions about the feed you can post them on our Forum or you can drop us an email at the.kingdom.ob.mod@gmail.com. I am currently hosting the feed at Rapid Feeds but it's still a BETA so who knows how it will go.

19-6-06 Release: Alpha 2

- AP Erebus

  • We have a new release. The Alpha 2 release fixes some of the more obvious bugs and various things like that. This is a list of the major fixes:
      • Fixed the exterior of Falvrium so there is no more transparent textures.
      • Fixed some lighting inside of Flavrium.
      • Fixed the flickering texture on the path in Drifund.
      • Fixed the "Finding the Kingdom" quest so that it now displays the final quest message and completes the quest.
      • Added objects to one of the Forgotten Houses in Drifund. Made it look more homely.
      • Various grammer, english and other bug fixes.
  • You can download the plugin from these sites: (42kb, RAR)
  • Unfortunately I made an error when I named the old file Alpha 1. Please delete the old plugin and use the new one. If you load a game that has the old plugin saved in it, it will give you an error on load. As long as you are not saved inside any of the plugin content (Flavrium, Drifund, etc...) you won't experience an error. The "The Lost Explorer" quests will begin again like it did the first time. Any future releases shouldn't have this problem as they will be all the same name, only the description will change.

14-6-06 Release: Alpha 1

- AP Erebus

12-6-06 - by AP Erebus

  • A new race (non-playable) has been announced; Hominus Nocturnus, the Vampyres. We have released a scholary text which describes these elusive people.
Hominus Nocturnus: A brief paper

Much folk lore has arisen around the Hominus Nocturnus; the Night Men; the Vampyres. Although reticent in the extreme, they are occasionally seen in the lands of The Kingdom, always by night and usually in violent circumstances. These conditions have lead to the common people viewing the Nocturnus with deep fear and distrust. When these tales are told the Nocturnus, invariably referred to as Vampyres, are known as creatures of blood and terror. However, when the myths are striped away we find a race not so far removed from ourselves.

There are tales of a city beneath the mountains of Perchor that have long persisted amongst the peasants and rumour mongers of The Kingdom, a safe haven from the sun, deep beneath the earth. The Nocturnus carry singular traits, a severe allergy to sunlight and a difficulty in regenerating bodily humours among them. These afflictions are coupled with a tougher constitution than humans; faster healing, greater strength and longer life. After much study I have been able to pin point the cause for these afflictions. Rather than a disease or a curse their extra ‘abilities’ seem to be natural, much like someone is taller than you or I. These ‘abilities’, in my opinion, mean that they are distinct enough to justify calling them a different race. It is my belief that the Nocturnus have existed as long as humans, possibly longer.

  • The entire paper can be read in our Lore section.

11-6-06 - by AP Erebus

  • Four new Screenshots have been released. They depict scenes from underground dungeons in Cyrodiil and The Kingdom.

  • You can find the other two screens in our Screenshots archive or you can click the screen in our rolling Screen Shot bar (under the SideBar on the right of the screen).

10-6-06 - by AP Erebus

  • Hopefully you will notice the new design and layout for the wiki. This is a result of some CSS editing and javascripts. This is an ongoing process so if something doesn't work with your browser please send me an email, the.kingdom.ob.mod@gmail.com

9-6-06 - by AP Erebus

  • Apologies for the small technical error we had with the wiki today (the green everywhere with no buttons or text). This was a result of me mucking around with the CSS file for the wiki. Probably somthing I shouldn't be doing without knowing how properly. Didn't take long to realise the mistake (on the next page load) but did take a while to work out how to fix. But everything is all right again.
  • We'll be making a new Lore and Screen release very soon so stay tuned.

24-5-06 - by AP Erebus

  • Quick update today. Work has been steadily progressing recently with a lot of time and effort (and swear words) being spent on creating the terrain for The Kingdom.
  • It has been decided by the mod members to only release the Duchy of Bordael as playable for 1.0 release. This decision was made for two main reasons.
    • We wanted to get something released. There have been many projects that have had too much scope without releasing. As it has been mentioned in the forums, better to have some bones to add the flesh too
    • With the terrain generater in the CS being buggier and more difficult to use than expected, it was decided to do a single duchy first, then expand on it.
  • We will be releasing some new in-game concept screens of the terrain soon, along with some new lore and a new screenshot.

1-5-06 - by AP Erebus

  • The first official screens have been released. We have three screens for your viewing pleasure.

  • You can find the other two screens in our Screenshots archive.
  • We have also released a new lore book, Fist of the Church. Here is a little snippet.
Fist of the Church

If there has ever been a defender of the Church, it has been the Ormailer. Whenever heresy struck in the form of the Magi, the Ormailers always cleansed their foul presence.

They forever safeguard our settlements with two main elements: their faith and their blades. They have been the iron fist of the Church since the first Magi stepped up to terrorrize the innocent people of the Kingdom. When the first man to wield the foul and heretic power that is magic, Shalidor, cursed a town with his presence, a brave group of men stepped up to face his wicked sorcery. They were armed with iron blades and wore iron mail, the traditional armour of our kingdom.

  • You can find the full book in our Lore section.

22-3-06 - by AP Erebus

  • The Main Quest has almost been finished for The Kingdom and soon, as the Construction Set has been release as a free download, we will begin the process of initial land creation and testing of various things.

10-3-06 - by AP Erebus

5-3-06 - by AP Erebus

  • We have made public two books. These are contained in the assorted lore section. These are still early revisions but they shouldn't change too much.
  • We are getting closer to an official launch of The Kingdom in the relevant forums so stay tuned.

3-3-06 - by AP Erebus

  • BIG NEWS: We finally have a release date. Oblivion will ship and I quote from the FAQ: "The game will be available in stores in North America and Europe the week of March 20th."
  • SMALLER BIG NEWS: The Construction Set, which is used for mod making, will be available as a download. Unlike MW, which had it as part of the retail package, the CS will be a FREE download
  • Many apologies for the "lack" of updates concerning the mod. The lore has basically been finished so this means that we are starting to work on the quests, writings and various other things. We'll keep you abreast of how things are going...

24-2-06 - by AP Erebus

  • I have added in the Magic section. It is housed in the Gods & Religion section of the wiki. It deals with how magic is handled in the lore of The Kingdom
  • Have a question? Got a suggestion? Just wanna say hello to the devs? Head over to our forums. We devs like positive feedback :D

24-2-06 - by FeloniusMonk

  • G'day. Another new team member. I'll be helping with plot, dialogue and other wordy bits…. And fetching the coffee.

20-2-06 - by NRG753

  • Hey all, I'm new to the team and will be creating 2D graphics content for the mod, hope you like our new banner!
  • Also check the Images & Wallpapers section for some cool Oblivion wallpapers.

17-2-06 - by AP Erebus

  • After much fun (not!) I have created a new section that allows easy access to information about the cities, towns and roads for each duchy. I will eventually have a section that has all the towns in alphabetical order, for reference. I'm mainly doing this so that the town descriptions get finished, otherwise they would just sit there, unfinished.

13-2-06 - by AP Erebus

  • I have uploaded the Geography map. This shows all the major geographical features and their names. This will be updated with more specific information (in the form of numbers) as I continue to develop the world.
  • I will be creating an easier to access section for the town and duchy descriptions. Having to go through the Political Information is a little cumbersome so yeah...
  • The town descriptions continue to be a thorn in my side. They aren't hard... I just can't be arsed. I'll have them done soon-ish :D

10-2-06 - by AP Erebus

  • I have almost completely redone all the maps on Photoshop. The Towns map now has all the town names on it. The Roads has been updated and I'll put some information about the different roads soon. The Political Boundaries map hasn't changed much. Just looks a hell of a lot better now, has the town names and the roads on it.
  • I have just put up, in each of the Duchy descriptions, a map of the duchy. This should give a better idea of where all the towns and roads are for that duchy. These can be found under the Political Information section, when you click on the name of each duchy.

9-2-06 - by AP Erebus

  • I have finished the Gods and Religion section. I now has the names of the six gods, religion in The Kingdom, and a little of the history of the Church.
  • Still to be done:
    • Town Descriptions
    • Geography

5-2-06 - by AP Erebus

  • It my 20th birthday today so not much was done all day.
  • I have updated the Current Politics section in Political Information. This now tell you what the state of politics is in The Kingdom at the time of the player entering.
  • I still have to work on:
    • Finishing the town descriptions.
    • The Gods and Religion Section. This has been mostly written, just needs to be fleshed out then typed up.
    • Write information about the Geography of The Kingdom. This will describe things like gold fields, diamond mines, iron mines, forest names and various facts about The Kingdoms geography.

2-2-06 - by AP Erebus

  • I have had a mate from the XBW forums making up the banner for the Wiki and also some forum signature pictures. Head over to the Banners & Wallpapers section to check the sig's's. I'll also put up some code so the the picture will link to this site if someone clicks on it. The designer, Diamond Dog, has done terrific job. you can check out his website here.

31-1-06 - by AP Erebus

  • The History outline has been completed. This provide an outline of the history of The Kingdom. Greater detail into certain events will probably be found in books in-game.
  • The next thing will be the current political climate. This has already been written, just needs to be typed up.

28-1-06 - by AP Erebus

  • The History section will be finished today with the brief outline of the history of The Kingdom.
  • I'm looking for a 2D artist to help design a logo for the mod. This will include banners, avatar logos and various things like that. If you interested can I get you to send me an email with a small sample of you work.

15-1-06 - by AP Erebus

  • I have updated the maps page with thumbnails. This means that dial-up users won't have to wait for the 4 large images to load. If you click on the images you can see a larger version of the map.

11-1-06 - by AP Erebus

  • I've updated the Gods & Religion section. More will be coming to describe religion and the six different gods.
  • Things to be done soon include:
    • Getting some thumbnails for the maps page.
    • Finishing the descriptions of all the towns.
    • Finish the religion section.
  • I'm having to do Summer School at uni so that's taking up some of my time, but allowing me to write stuff on the train trip.

31-12-05 - by AP Erebus

  • After much Photoshopping, I have uploaded 2 more maps. The first one shows all the major highways and roads thoughout The Kingdom. The other shows the political boundries. The different colour represent the land owned by each duchy.
  • After attempting to view the maps using dial-up internet at a mates place I realised that the maps are pretty largere. I will endevour to create thumbnails for all the maps soon.

28-12-05 - by AP Erebus

  • I have uploaded a new map with all the major towns placed on there. These numbers match up with the ones in the political section of the wiki, so you can get an idea of where each town is situated. The final descriptions of all the towns/cities haven't been finished so take not much notice of them. This is the next stage of the project.

27-12-05: - by AP Erebus

  • The redrawn map of The Kingdom has been uploaded for veiwing. Note that this is a vast improvement on the old map, providing a greater idea of the surrounding terrain. Certain areas were adjusted/added from the original, giving it a more realistic feel.
  • Over the next day or so (I'm heading off to the cricket tomorrow), I'll be adding the city numbers to the map, showing main highways and trade routes. These numbers correspond with the numbers in the descriptions of the duchy's, in the political section

14-12-05: - by AP Erebus

  • The Kingdom Map has been redrawn lately to incorporate a larger surounding area around the nation border. This give The Kingdom a feeling of being part of a world, instead of a isolated area which the original map suggested. The latest picture will be uploaded as soon as possible.
